For more detailed information please look at the downloads now available. If you feel led to volunteer then please look at the volunteering page and contact us for more information.
CMML Guesthouse, Lusaka, Zambia

Skills needed: Builder, bricklayer, electrician, plumber, tiler, decorator.
The project: The Flight Service Guesthouse is a comfortable house conveniently located in Lusaka between the airport and city. It is available for use by missionaries and people travel in and out of the country, including Brass Tacks volunteers to Zambia. The Guest House in Lusaka is run and operated by the CMML Flight Service, and is often referred to as “The Flight House”. The present flight house is a rented property, but now an adjacent property has been purchased and we have been asked to assist to upgrade the facilities so that the move can be made next door.

This is a very well planned and forward looking project designed to meet a big need. For more details of this project we have got a very detailed booklet for download from the downloads page.
Mechanics Trip, Zambia
When: 14th April to 30th May 2008
Skills needed: Mechanics, mechanical engineers.
The project: Our team of mechanics who worked in Zambia during 2007 discovered many challenges to their skills and ingenuity. Now we would like to return with a team in order to continue a vehicle maintenance programme across various mission stations. Experienced and resourceful mechanics and mechanical engineers are needed to work on HGV and 4x4 vehicles and possibly generators.
Kalene Mission Hospital, North West Zambia
When: Spring - Autumn 2008
Skills needed: Electricians, electrical engineers.
The project: This will be the third year that Brass Tacks have returned to Kalene Mission hospital. There are pictures from 2006 and 2007 in the image gallery. Kalene Hospital is in the remote north west of Zambia. Up until 2007 the only electricity was generated by diesel generator. The electrics at the hospital seem to have been put together and adapted over many years. In 2007 the Zengamina Hydro Electric project was completed bringing 24 hour electricity for the first time. Unfortunately the electrics are not up to the task and so a full rewire is required. This will certainly be a big task.
